Learn how to spin your own yarn using a modern version of an ancient tool, the drop spindle. Or advance to other techniques or wheel spinning. All levels welcome.

We will also discuss other types of fiber to spin, fiber prep tools and their usage (we have several available in our fiber cabinet), where to acquire tools and fiber, and connecting with the larger fiber community.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME.
Beginners or folks refreshing will start on drop-spindle.
Intermediate, whatever their interest (usually plying, or wheel-spinning).
Advanced, let me know ahead of time if you have a specific interest in a tool, technique or fiber.

IMPORTANT--BEGINNERS
This class will teach you the basic mechanics of spinning, but you will need to plan on practicing outside of class to improve your skill and control.

Optional kits available for home practice (see below, small fee).

We will have spindles/fiber available in class. If you have your own spindle/fiber, you are welcome to bring them.

NON-BEGINNERS
So you took the first class and got a spindle full spun up but want help plying, or what's next?

Or know how to spin but want to learn different spinning/plying techniques, or tackle a particular fiber? Bring what tool/fiber/project that you have and we'll go from there. It's fine if you have a wheel and want to bring it.

TO THOSE INTERESTED IN LEARNINGS WHEEL SPINNING:

**recommend you having done some drafting on drop spindle first, but not a requirement

1) Please let me know ahead of time if possible (if there are many of you, I may bring an extra wheel). Contact info at bottom.

2) We have one classroom wheel, so you may have to take turns. Bring your drop spindle and fiber so that you can be working on it while waiting your turn at the wheel.

OPTIONAL
If you like spinning and want to take home fiber and spindle to practice with, bring $5 for a kit you can take home. Class is free otherwise.
