About this Event
Come play with the Gelli plates and learn about mono-printing here at the Makerspace! A Gelli plate is a clear, soft, gelatin-like block where water based media can be applied to the surface and then transferred to paper or fabric. Mono-printing is a form of printmaking that has lines or images can only be printed once, unlike most forms of printmaking where there are multiple copies produced.
You will be using water based paints to make a variety of images on the plate using rollers, stencils, bubble wrap, string, and other odds and ends (maybe even including your fingers…).
Student will make several prints on a small variety of provided papers to take home.
Special Considerations and Warnings
Wear a shirt that you can get messy in, bring your journal, sketch book, or blank note cards if you want to print additional images to take home with you.
