This lathe is much smaller than the Couchester and is better suited for the beginner, working on small projects, art projects or jewelry projects. Both plastics and metals can be machined. Skills learned here will easily apply later when moving to larger lathe projects
First part of class will be in Purple Classroom, second half (2 hours) at the lathe in the machine shop.
$5 covers cost of materials. student is provided for their first project or to practice on. Balance goes toward acquiring consumable tools.
Operations covered will include Facing, Sizing, Parting, and drilling, limited milling.
