About this Event
The class is an overview with basic need-to-know info for the proprietary equipment in the jewelry and small metals (JSM) area.
The learning outcome of this class is intended to be personal safety and the basic usage of the JSM department tools.
Additionally, the class is intended to help develop the skills necessary for members to feel more comfortable in exploring further participation and collaboration with others in the JSM department.
This a hands-on class. Tools are passed around for you to see, touch, and feel. You will be shown basic operation of many of the tools and be given resources to learn specific techniques that can help you use the tools in various jewelry making processes. A brief quiz is included to ensure are walking away with knowledge and understood the class content.
Special Considerations and Warnings
Although we will not be using any tools in the orientation you may choose to wear close toed shoes and non-flowy clothing; and to have hair tied back as a precaution.
