About this Event

The digital metal induction melting furnace in the Jewelry / Small Metals area is open for training.
We will cover safety and best practices then proceed to prepare castable metals for the graphite crucibles.
Gaining proficiency in operating the furnace, handling crucibles, and controlling molten metal is our primary focus.
This is the class you need to get familiar with the equipment and to make sure you have the proper techniques.
Other classes will cover specific casting setups and how to determine casting ratios (base / alloy) - - keep an eye out for more Jewelry / Small Metals classes on the calendar.

DMS is a nonprofit organization and does not charge big bucks for classes (for example this jewelry class series is free and open to all).
The equivalent class at your local Community College / University would be $$$.
If you would like to see the jewelry department here at DMS thrive - - consider a donation worthy of the class you enjoy - - you can fill out an envelope with your donation and throw it into the donations box.
Know that we are grateful for donations of any amount, and will continue to provide outstanding classes based on your feedback.
Thanks in advance...
