About this Event
Design your own Arduino Uno with a deep dive into how it works.
The design goals for this project is to make an inexpensive minimalist target board using an ATmega328P. Explain the processes used for programming the Micro-controller using the 6-pin ISP header using SPI interface. Explain how to use an ISP programmer with the Arduino IDE. Explain how to use AVRdude to flash the Micro-controller and also change the fuse settings (Clock speeds) 1MHz, 8MHz 16MHz. Explain the essentials needed to make a basic Uno. No bootloader needed.
What to Bring:
Laptop computer – Windows – Mac - Linux
A USB-ISP programmer - You can find these on E-bay real cheap
Adafruit USBtiny programmer or clone. https://learn.adafruit.com/usbtinyisp
USBasp Programmer or clone https://www.fischl.de/usbasp/
Bread board - LED’s and Resistors. Arduino Uno optional if you are unable to purchase the Target board.
I will have a limited number of working ATmega328P target boards for sale that will be used in the workshop for $10.00 each. I will have a very limited supply of USB-ISP programmers for those who can’t find one in time.

Special Considerations and Warnings
This workshop will be a little advance on this subject for beginners. Need a basic understanding Microcontrollers and the Arduino IDE. Beginners are still welcome.
