What is a ribbon wreath?
It’s a wreath. It’s made with ribbon and wire. Google it, they're really cool.
Why do you need one?
Because they are a frigging gorgeous thing that you can make and everyone will be jealous of when they come to your house for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and other more winter related holidays and see how creative/artistic/talented you are! If you enjoy the process, you can also highlight your generosity (or avarice) and make them as gifts for the holidays.
Will I have a wreath after this class?
We’ll be focusing on a solid base wreath that you can customize further on your own. When we wrap up, you’ll have a good start on your wreath, and I’ll bring some examples of various stages so you’ll understand how to get an awesome finished product. It takes about 4 hours to complete a full wreath, so it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to complete the project during the class.
A $20 cost is requested to cover a wreath frame, wire, and a selection of ribbon in several colors to get you started on your project. Feel free to bring any fabric/decorative ribbon you’d like to include with you to class, I recommend 5-6 different sizes, textures, and colors, between 1-1/2” and 6”. You’ll be able to complete a great wreath for about $40 total.
Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn, or WalMart are good local ribbon sources.
Special Considerations and Warnings
Bring ribbon you may want to use (1.5” or wider) and a set of kitchen shears if you’ve got them. I’ll have the rest of the materials.
For this class, I will have the following ribbon color choices in sizes between 1.5” and 6”
