About this Event

In this class you will learn the necessary knowledge to design your own bags, whether they be a messenger bag or backpack or other bag, or take an existing bag and remake it, from a professional designer.

You'll learn design considerations such as what materials to use, how to pattern the bag based off of critical dimensions, how to make your patterns, and how you plan on assembling/sewing the bag.

We'll also talk about how to integrate different materials with your base materials and the best ways to cut out and prepare your materials for sewing and where to get your materials.

An example would be how to design a hybrid leather and canvas messenger bag, or how to make a travel backpack, etc.

This will be the first part in a series of classes where we will eventually develop your bag from concept to completed product.
