About this Event

In this class we will make a wooden wand for cosplay, display, or even ritual usage. The class will cover the basics of spindle turning, the making of beads and coves in woodturning, and the basics on designing a spindle project.

Class Time
• 2 hours scheduled, but may not take the entire time.

Techniques & Tools
• Mounting a spindle blank
• Turning the spindle into a wand
• Sanding and finishing the wand
• Sharpening tools after use

Materials
• 1 x 12 inch wood blank
• Lathe tools

Special Considerations and Warnings

Please make sure to wear short sleeves, do not wear any dangling jewelry, and tie back any long hair. Bring eye and breathing protection at all times when using a wood lathe.
