About this Event
You’re thinking of taking some classes, but don’t know which ones.
You’ve taken some classes, but you don’t know what to do next.
You want to make something cool, but it just seems really complicated.
In this series of classes we will focus on process and workflow.
You don’t need to have taken any of the prerequisite tool classes to take this class.
You will learn how to chain together multiple tools and techniques to create cool stuff!
Are you like me and have no skills? Like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills or woodworking skills?
No worries! You don’t need any to build real furniture!
In this class we show how you can easily and quickly design your own furniture in TinkerCad or Fusion 360, then post process it into a MultiCam cutting file. The beauty of this workflow is that you don’t need to to glue or screw the parts together to have a piece a furniture. All you need to do is slide the pieces together like a puzzle and BAM!, you have a coffee table, bed, end table or sofa! Even better with a little custom manipulation you can have your piece of furniture have built in STORAGE!
You will be taught the workflow as following:
Design a simple or, if you wish, a complex piece of furniture in TinkerCad or Fusion360>Post Process in 123D Make/Slicer>Export the Vector/Cutting Files>Import them into Vcarve>Generate Tool Paths to cut your furniture on the MultiCam!
Please remember that you will not be taught HOW to use this software or the MultiCam. You will be shown the workflow process and some final products of this process. This is real. All the the software can be accesses for FREE on the internet or through the MakerSpace JumpDrive. If you are not authorized to use the MultiCam, you will need to take the class and pass the test.
You do not need to have taken the class for the MultiCam to take this class. This class is designed to teach and show you the possibilities of the wonderful tools we have available. Be Inspired!
What these classes are and what they are not.
These classes will not spend time on how to use the specific tool. You will need to take that class afterwards to learn how.
With some limitations this class will demonstrate the tool and the software workflow to create the project.
You will see an example of the final product, so that you know this is real.
Some tools require training like the MultiCam. Some skill or knowledge of the software will need to be learned if you don’t know already how to use it. You will need to take the class to learn how to use it. We will not cover step by step instructions on how use or set up the MultiCam.
These classes show step by step how to make the cool project.
