About this Event
SCREENPRINTING TOPICS - Printing with Discharge Ink and Clear ink.
Discharge ink removes the dye from fabric and exposes the original color of the cotton fiber similar to bleach without damaging the fabric. Printing with discharge ink leaves your image in the original fiber color, which could be beige, grey or an off white.
Students will learn to mix and use the Discharge ink process for T-shirt or Textile printing, and then print a secondary image on the fabric using Clear ink for a unique tone on tone effect.
Class will be printing on Black or Purple t-shirts (extended sizes in black only), and will create a unique DMS logo t-shirt for you to wear.
Please provide your t-shirt size via email ([email protected]
). The class fee covers the cost of the specialty inks and t-shirts
Special Considerations and Warnings
Be aware that the discharge ink process does create strong smells during use and drying.
Wear clothing that you don't mind getting stained as you will be working with inks and discharge agents during class.
