About this Event

We will be building a very simple robot which mimics the motions of another robot using the Arduino Nano, two servos, and two potentiometers. This class will be appropriate for children 9 years and up and absolute beginners (including adults) are welcome. The $40 fee covers the cost of materials -- one registration is sufficient per family. Parents are encouraged to stay & participate.

Here's an example of the robot from the last workshop:

This is the simplest 2 Degree of Freedom teleoperated robot that the instructor can imagine. We will also be learning some Arduino basics and understanding how the code works.

You will keep the robots with all the materials, including:

2 Servos
2 Small Breadboards
1 Arduino Nano
Jumper wires

Special Considerations and Warnings

Please bring a laptop. It will be helpful if you install the Arduino IDE on your laptop. You will be able to keep all materials used.

We will be using hot glue. Help will be available for participants not comfortable with the hot glue gun.
