About this Event

We will make maple drumsticks . Each student will make a stick based on their own preferences ( size and tip shape). This class is a great opportunity to learn traditional gouge use but can be done with very little lathe experience.
Requirements:
- any lathe class (lathe basics or project based classes)
- 1:1 scale drawing of stick you'd like to make
Use your best measuring skills here( we are limited to 14" due to the lathe bed size . You do not need to account for this in the drawing)
-wood if you do not want maple ( hickory and oak are big so bring what you like)

***** So you play in a band that works Fridays. All the more reason to get in and out by 9:30! Awesome bands like your don't start working until 10ish anyways! *****

Special Considerations and Warnings

** Appropriate work shop attire is required including long pants/jeans, short sleeve shirt/top (or long sleeves with close fitting cuffs), and sturdy closed-toe shoes or work boots. NO: overly loose fitting (i.e. baggy) clothing; unbound long hair; dangling/swinging jewelry and other accessories. **
*Please do not register if you are usually tired or sleeping at this hour
* Your individual skill level and desired end product will dictate the length of the class
* I highly recommended a dust mask
*Class fees maintain consumables
