About this Event

Have you built your domino and don't have another project to run? This will be a project class to give people more experience at running the HAAS vertical mill as well as doing the CAD/CAM of the project.
The project will be a functional bottle opener incorporating both 2D and 3D toolpathing. Students will be given a choice on the 3D 'head' to build and how to CAD the body and generate tool paths for project.

Once completed, the student can arrange a time with the HAAS supervisor to run their project. Class fee is for the 3x5" aluminum blank provided from which the bottle opener will be cut with balance going to the machine shop committee to purchase extra milling bits.

A laptop is recommended to follow along, but not necessary. Notes will be provided.

Special Considerations and Warnings

Project will use VCarve Pro software. If you have taken the CNC Router class you will have immediate access. If not you can download a trial version at http://www.vectric.com/downloads/trial-software.html to be able to install and follow along. arrangements for full access will be provided after the student completes the class. Student will have to have run their domino before, or take the HAAS 2: Control and Operation class before they can actually cut out their part. It has not be marked as a prerequisite so that you can still sign up for this class.
