About this Event

Are you working on a story and have a scene your struggling with? Want someone to double check a section of your screen play to see if it flows well? Have some dialog that just feels off and you can’t place it? Bring it to the Fiction Writing Workshop.

The purpose of this workshop is to read through excerpts from short stories, novellas, novels, screen plays, or other pieces of written fiction and provide constructive, actionable feedback to the author. This workshop is not about establishing who’s a better writer, but helping fellow authors improve scenes or sections that they are struggling with.

Special Considerations and Warnings

Please submit your excerpts of 8 pages (double-spaced 12pt Times New Roman) to “\\files\committees\creativearts\Fiction Workshop” at least two days prior to the workshop to give the other workshop participants a chance to read them.

Please pull the excerpts from “\\files\committees\creativearts\Fiction Workshop” and take some time to read them prior to the workshop. This will give more time to the discussion on each piece rather than taking time to read them.
