About this Event

We will be taking rough-cut lumber and making an 11"x15"x1" edge grain cutting board - that you will be able to take home when you're done.

Please note this is a 2-day class - please do not sign up if you cannot make both days.

Day 1 - We will surface the lumber on the jointer, planer, and drum sander. Cut the boards to width on the table saw, and finish up gluing and clamping up the board.

Day 2 - We will flatten the boards [jointer & planer again], round the corners and the edges on the router table, sand everything smooth and then condition the board.

After the class, you should [hopefully] be able to make additional cutting boards & feel comfortable using the jointer, planer, flush cutting with a jig and rounding edges on the router.

All materials will be provided - we will be using cherry and hard maple of various widths. While we will not be creating end grain cutting boards, we will discuss the steps needed to make one on your own.

The cost of the class is $50 - to be paid at the beginning of class.
