About this Event
In this class, we will be learning about and playing with the Processing Video library (allowing access to the camera in real-time) and the processing Serial library (allowing access to Serial devices such as the Arduino).
Processing makes it easy to perform tasks such as processing (forgive the pun) live video and creating desktop programs which interact with the Arduino.
According to www.processing.org
"Processing is a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code within the context of the visual arts."
We will be learning about the Video library through the built-in examples and building a simple program to interact with the Arduino from the desktop.
We will also be demonstrating at least one program built with the Processing video library (a pulse visualizer using light transmitted through your finger).
Special Considerations and Warnings
Bring your laptop. If possible, have Processing, the Video library, and the Minim sound library pre-installed on your laptop. I also highly recommend that you bring an Arduino, a breadboard, an LED, a potentiometer, and a pair of headphones! )
