About this Event

Symmetry is inherently beautiful. Algorithms can be used to create symmetry.

Algorithms can also create asymmetry, which has its own beauty.

In this short workshop, we will be using the Processing.org platform (a simple, Java-based language geared towards visual artists) to create interactive graphics. We will use basic concepts from geometry, trigonometry and chaos theory to create visually appealing interactive graphics.

I will also demonstrate what else can be done with the Processing platform (including video, sound, integration with the Arduino platform, etc.).

If you do not have previous programming experience, please start with the earlier class which will be an introduction to Processing. If you're a coder, you should be fine.

Special Considerations and Warnings

Bring your laptop. If possible, have Processing, the Video library, and the Minim sound library pre-installed on your laptop.
