About this Event

In this 2-part class you will learn how to make a bandsaw box from beginning to end. NOTE! There is a material cost associated with this class that is paid to the instructor, please make note of specifics below. Instructor approval will be required for each class as both parts will be required for attendance. Aside from walking away with your own lovely bandsaw box, each student will also take home a comprehensive step by step handout that will cover class material taught in the 2 classes so they may begin crafting many more boxes.

Class 1- In this class we will cover bandsaw safety, the basic principles of making a bandsaw box, cutting out a box, initial shaping, and gluing-up the box. 3 hours will be scheduled for part 1

Class 2- In this class we will cover basic power sander and table router safety, how to shape and sand your box after glue has cured. We will cover various methods of finishing your box, flocking the drawers and what that entails, then we will finish and flock the boxes. 3 hours will be scheduled for part 2

Woodshop basics, or Woodshop 1-4 required to take this class.

Cost: Free to sign up, but $25 are due to the instructor at the start of the class 1 for materials. Cash, Venmo, and Paypal F&F are accepted.

Special Considerations and Warnings

Please make sure to wear short sleeves, do not wear any dangling jewelry, and tie back any long hair. Bring eye and breathing protection when working in the woodshop.
