Special Considerations and Warnings

Age 18 and up only. We'll move back to letting the younger members participate (with parents) when we move back to the larger format class.

Blacksmithing involves a lot of hammering and working with red-hot metal.

Wear clothing appropriate for outdoor work, including closed toed shoes and natural fiber clothing (Cotton and wool good, nylon and polyester bad). Hot metal dropped onto synthetic materials can lead to burning goo sticking to skin - not a good thing.

A few shoe covers and aprons are available though you can bring your own if you'd rather. Hearing protection is optional hammering on steel can be quite loud.

Participation while wearing shorts will not be allowed and Please read the Special Considerations regarding appropriate clothing: no Nylon/synthetic shoes/clothing please.
