Special Considerations and Warnings
WORKS IN PROGRESS SHELVES
Current Policy is that you have 30 days of storage in the Works In Progress shelves before your greenware piece is tossed out. Make sure your item is ALWAYS labeled. Be considerate and thoughtful of other/new members and keep turning around your projects (bisque and glazed) to make space for other members. If you have several items on the shelves, consider purchasing additional storage via DMS bins.
GLAZE FUND PAYPAL
We now have a paylpal link! This makes it SOOO much easier to donate to the glaze fund! Please make sure to send your donation of $1-$5 to this link or bring some cash to drop in the box.
Honorarium is a benefit to our members and allows us to receive compensation for the time that we take to share our knowledge with others. In order to get honorarium, there must be a minimum of 3 students that attend the class. The current system has a glitch which makes a student cancellation very difficult. If you cancel, it will not open up the space so another can take it. Our classes fill up very quickly and our department is very active. Please consider your schedule and availability ahead time. If there aren’t enough students to take the class, please note that the class might be cancelled. Instructors reserve the right to deny registration if you cancel your spot two or more times without communication in advance.
By signing up for this class, you are consenting that if you should feel ill and/or have a fever prior to the class, you will stay home and not attend this class. Should you attend this class and test positive for covid recently afterward, you will notify DMS/the instructor so that they can notify their classmates that they were potentially exposed to COVID.
By signing up for this class, you are consenting to photography and videography. Photography and videography obtained during the class may be used for DMS Ceramics promotional purposes via social media.
NO ‘1’ SIZE FITS ALL
We highly recommend that you take multiple classes from multiple teachers. There are many ways to get an amazing end result and each teacher has their own unique way of creating and throwing with clay.
Everyone moves through classes at their own pace. When registering for classes back to back, either in the same department or in other departments, please give yourself plenty of time between classes as you may need more time than scheduled to complete a class.
