About this Event

Learn how to prep images for laser, vinyl, plasma cam, CNC routing, and silk screens. No prior experience needed. I will walk you thru all the steps, using the free program Inkscape, to understand and modify images to work with our great tools. Then you get to practice with provided examples.

Some questions answered:
Are bitmap images (jpeg, PNG) OK? What is a vector image? What do i need to know about images so they work on our tools? Is this a good image? Can I use the same image on all these tools? How do I fix this?

Learn the fundamentals and a few tricks.
1. Image tracing
2. Bézier curves. Anchors/Nodes and handles
3. Segment tools
4. adding/deleting nodes, creating/deleting segments
5. Fill and Stroke
6 Working with Text, Text to path

Paths get pretty deep. But an 1+ hours should give you a good command of the basics and ability to explore the rest on your own. Future classes will explore the deep text options, shapes, filling shapes, and much more.
