About this Event
Make a petri dish style resin coaster using a silicon mold, 2 part art resin, and alcohol inks!
This unique technique makes a one of a kind piece of art, thanks to the "sinking" effect of the alcohol ink in the resin.
Students will learn to measure and mix 2 part resin, use a brulee torch to "pop" the bubbles, and add ink to create a unique art piece.
Resin takes 24 to cure before it can be removed from the molds. Students may come by anytime within the next week to retrieve their piece. Coasters will be fully cured after 72 hours and may need some post-cure sanding to remove rough edges. Sanding techniques will be briefly touched on in class.
Special Considerations and Warnings
Please wear something you do not mind potentially getting sticky or stained, and wear long hair up or pulled back - brulee torches will be used and resin is nearly impossible to wash out of hair (and sleeves).
