About this Event

Basics of beekeeping is a class for this either new to beekeeping or interested in starting. The class is an overview and similar to those that cost 5-10x elsewhere taught by professional beekeepers.
It will cover:
Honeybee 101 - brief of the honey bee, bee clubs, and history of bees, bee lifecycle and jobs. beekeeping resources, and what you need to know before keeping bees
Beekeeping equipment - what you need and where to buy it ( will save you $$$)
Harvesting honey - how and when to do it and what you will need
Keeping your bees healthy happy and alive in Texas!
Dos and Don’ts of beekeeping and common beekeeper mistakes.

Special Considerations and Warnings

There will be no bees in the class just common equipment that has been used to work bees which may include pollen for those that might be sensitive.
