About this Event

In this class we will learn how to turn our designs into cuttable files using Silhouette Studio. After that we will cut our files on heat transfer vinyl using the Silhouette Cameo, weed the designs, and transfer them to your tshirt or tote bag using the heat press.

Heat transfer vinyl is available in the Creative Arts room for $4 per linear foot, payable at the Square kiosk. You should not need more than one foot for this class.

Special Considerations and Warnings

You will need to bring a design file to the class. I recommend one designs with sharply defined edges. Extremely complex designs may require a lot of design time. I will have Dallas Makerspace logo files available to cut in case your design file doesn't work out.

Heat Transfer Vinyl is $4 per linear foot, payable by cash or by credit using the Square. There will be a small variety of colors available. If you would like a particular color feel free to bring your own heat transfer vinyl.

YOU WILL NEED TO BRING the media that you want to transfer your design to (tshirt, tote bag, sweatshirt, etc). I recommend cotton or cotton/poly blend with not too much stretch. Do not bring anything that will melt, burn, or be otherwise ruined by the heat press (such as silk, acrylic, etc.).

We will be using the Silhouette Cameo (which includes sharp blades) and the heat press (which can operate at temperatures up to approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit). Please use appropriate caution.
