About this Event
ATTENTION ALUMNI: If you took this class in February 2019 and you already have your STM32 Starter's Kit, you do NOT need to register for this class. Just show up. Please consider sending me a note to let me know you plan on attending.
UPDATE: Please ignore any previous messages about a "Setup & Validation" class to be held separately from this class. This was an accidental holdover from a previous version of this class and is no longer required. Thanks to Brady for pointing this out!
This class is a fast and deep dive into using STMicroelectronics' ARM Cortex M microcontrollers, using state-of-the-art development software.
We will be using an STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller in this hands-on lab. All equipment will be provided, except for a laptop which you will need to bring.
This microcontroller is a step up from the traditional Arduino type of computer system. It has a higher level of performance and available resources. The available tools are also an order of magnitude more useful to a professional developer and are directly supported by STMicroelectronics.
We will be using the Microsoft Windows versions of the required software packages. While the software is free to download and use, it is not open-source.
You will go from blinking an LED (the "Hello, world" of embedded development) to designing your own USB peripheral.
Special Considerations and Warnings
We will be handling and identifying small components. Please bring your good reading glasses, if required.
