About this Event
Interested in a new technique to create dramatic texture on your pots? We will be using sodium silicate to create varying degrees of ‘cracked, dry riverbed’ looks on pieces.
Requirements: Pottery throwing competency. We will not be teaching how to make pots, but instead how to alter them in a groovy way. If you have any questions about this, drop me a line. You don’t have to be a throwing phenom, new throwers are welcome, but you do need to be able to make a piece with basic control. Don’t be scared!
You will need to supply your own t-mix or stoneware clay or you can plunder the freebie bin for ~mystery clay~. The sodium silicate will be provided.
Special Considerations and Warnings
Standard throwing messiness may occur, dress accordingly. :)
