About this Event

Rockets are cool. Everyone knows that.

But why are rockets being discussed in a 3D printing class?

Did you know that 3D printing is used in industry for building rocket engines?

Yes, ROCKET ENGINES!

That's why we’re talking about rockets.
Plus, they’re pretty neat all by themselves.

But you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to 3D print.

In fact, I’ll show you how to get started with 3D printing in minutes.

Not days…
Not hours…

Mere… Minutes!

This class is the one to be in for those who:

• Have heard of 3D printing, but are not sure what its all about.
• Are interested in learning a basic overview on what 3D printing is and isn't.
• want to know what we use 3D printers for, here at the Makerspace.
• Have questions about turning their projects into plastic, and need answers NOW.

This class is meant for complete newcomers to 3D printing, but experienced users are welcome too! Come and learn about how and why we print in 3D, from hobby use to building those rocket engines.

Topics discussed include:
<> basic terminology
<>a quick history and highlight of 3D printing use,
<>how to get started with 3D printing here at the Makerspace and by yourself,
<>and more!

This is the first in a series of introductory courses for 3D printing.

We will take a quick tour of the Makerspace's 3D Fabrication Room at the end of the class.

Special Considerations and Warnings

This course is not required to use the Makerspace 3D printers, merely to teach the basics of what 3D printing is about. See the 100 series of 3D Fabrication courses for certification on the various machines available.
