About this Event

The class will cover:
* The basic setup and operation of the Lincoln Electric SQUARE WAVE® TIG 200 TIG
* Safety procedures for using a TIG welder
* Preparing material for TIG welding
* Tacking and basic welding skills

The goal of the class is for a person to come back and be able to use the skills they learned during the class to become more proficient at TIG welding

Class is limited to DMS Members, with a maximum of 4 participants.

NOTICE: The class will be starting at noon in the welding bay and will last the entire time, 3 hours. If you show up after the safety portion of the class has started you will not be able to attend and have to take the class at a different time

Cost of the class is $30.00. All proceeds go to DMS Metal shop for materials and supplies.

You will need to have taken the DMS Metal Shop safety class before using any equipment in the metal shop. If you have taken the class but you are still not able to sign up for the TIG welding class please contact the metal shop chair and have them fix your account so you are marked down for taking the safety class.

Special Considerations and Warnings

Please wear natural fiber clothing (cotton or denim material is preferable) with long sleeves and long pants without cuffs. Closed toes shoes are also required, boots are prefered. Long hair needs to be secured or covered; tucking your hair behind your shirt is allowed for this class. If you have your own welding helmet, gloves and other safety equipment you can bring them but equipment will be provided.
